OUR CORPORATE PATNERS

In 2023, Kenya Seed Company supported us with KSHs 100,000/= to buy a 5000-liter water tank in order to enhance indigenous and fruit trees seedling production. The installation of the water system was a milestone to the organization after struggling with high cost of petrol to pump water from the stream. CANAs seedling production increased from 20,000 seedlings to about 250,000 seedlings in FY 2023/2024. In 2024 we donated over 50,000 seedlings including fruit trees to public institutions and schools.

In March 2025, we went back to say thank you to Kenya Seed Company for their good gesture in supporting the community women. We donated 20 pieces of BAMBOO seedlings to Kitale Club during the Kenya Seed sponsored Classic Golf Tournament. Two species of Bamboo, Green giant and yellow ornamental were donated. Why BAMBOO?

The choice of bamboo species was informed after considering the golf ground and golfers who are dedicated to run their cause. The bamboos will help in maintaining clean oxygen and regulating the atmosphere.

Bamboo can be harvested every 5 years and the poles can be used to build gazebo and furniture once treated. Bamboo is suitable to hold the soil together and maintain a calm ecosystem.

We request the leadership of Kitale club to set aside a small space where CANA can establish a BAMBOO forest as a legacy for the next generation.

Empowering Women: Ending Period Poverty in Trans Nzoia County

Stories abound of adolescent girls unable to go to school due to lack of sanitary pads. In other cases, early pregnancies result because the girls sought menstrual support from men who asked for payment in kind, specifically through sexual intercourse.
Combating menstrual poverty is a powerful strategy for adolescent girls. Community Action Network of Africa [CANA] had the privilege to train 30 girls and 20 women in hand-knitting reusable sanitary pads.

This will go a long way towards ensuring menstrual hygiene is taken care of and no girl will stay at home
